Prince Albert Raiders Spokane Arena reviews
Mostly Epic
Lalah Hathaway delivered a solid performance with a distinctive soulful voice reminiscent of her father. Nice selection of songs, stayed in her range. I don't really feel she was the right pick for the lineup. Some of her ad-libbing was a bit annoying and condescending. She has a jazz club feel, and her voice doesn't fill the larger venue. Having said that, I wasn't feeling the need for a DJ either.
Eric Benet, with his humorous and engaging banter, brought the house down with his unnaturally amazing voice and slick stage presence. I could have listened to an entire concert with just him, his amazing sound man, and stunningly beautiful and talented backup singer.
The Prince Albert Raiders put on a stellar show reminiscent of James Brown with a large talented group of background singers and high-energy soulful singing. The sound was a little loud where I was sitting during their performance. The background trio was given a little too much time to showcase. They have a bright future, but not yet on the level of the other performers as far as song recognition. They were good, but not saying that they were not. The Hammertones I think they are called, talented group.
